I started Stephen on this new inhaler to control asthma attacks today. I don't like it. I think we are doing too much medication. Maybe, my husband is rubbing off on me. I just get the impression that my son won't tell the truth about his coughs. Like they ask to cough anything up? He says no. But to me they sound like a wet cough and not a dry cough. Does that make sense? I hate speaking up telling the Doc that I think my son isn't being truthful. How do we treat an illness if he isn't giving us accurate information.

  1. My son as asthma and coughs with it. Most times even though his cough sounded wet he would not be able to cough up anything. I think that is in part because with asthma the bronchi are inflamed. He was dx with asthma at age 2.he took breathing treaments(inhaler as he got older) twice a day to prevent the coughing. I would try the medicine for a few days and see how he does. I think you will see improvement and your son will feel better.

  2. Thanks for the advice. One thing that makes me go hmmm is this really asthma is that when the doc said don't give him the allergy pill that he got really sick really fast.. So, I wonder if it's really allergies and not asthma. However, even with the allergy pill he still has the cough. I am thinking of this inhaler as a trial thing and see if the coughs go away during this treatment.
